Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
